An Attorney Who Understands Mental Health Professionals... Because I Am One!

Meet Brandi....

As both an Attorney and a Licensed Marital & Family Therapist, my law practice focuses exclusively on serving the needs of mental health professionals.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2003 from Oklahoma City University and my Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy in 2005 from Southern Nazarene University. Prior to practicing law, I practiced as a Licensed Marital & Family Therapist and gained professional experience in a variety of clinical settings ranging from inpatient psychiatric settings with severely mentally ill adults and emotionally disturbed children to private practice with children, families, and couples. During my last decade of practice as a therapist, my practice was almost exclusively children and families in high-conflict divorce and custody matters.

After beginning my career as a therapist, I returned to school to pursue my law degree. I received my Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law where I was a member of Phi Delta Phi (PDP) and served on Law Review. I also am graduate of the Interdisciplinary Training Program in Child Abuse & Neglect where I conducted research regarding domestic violence and child abuse. During law school, I also became a Certified Mediator. I have extensive training and experience working with children and families in the context of divorce and separation. During my last decade of practice as a therapist, my practice was almost exclusively children and families in high-conflict divorce and custody matters. I no longer practice as a therapist, but I work with therapists on legal issues related to their practice and also offer continuing education on the legal and business aspects of therapy.

I have served as a Board Member and Legislative Chair for the Oklahoma Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (OKAMFT). My other professional affiliations include the Family Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association (OBA) and Association of Family & Conciliation Courts (AFCC).
